I'm too poor and PS3-less to get Tools of Destruction. :( Anyway, R&C is probably my favorite franchise ever. Insomniac owns. :3
I've never played those games. Are they fun?

Yeah, I guess. If you like stuff like Halo, you might like this. I advise renting the first 2 before you decide to buy anything.
Ratchet and Clank pwn so hard I almost cried when I played the games.
They took the platformer genre and decked it out with Kick ass crazy weapons, intense action, side splitting hilarity, and involving gameplay the likes of which I have never seen.
Insomniac has created a Platformer franchise that rivals the Mario Bros (in quality not quantity).
The combat system is flawless and every problem in previous titles has always been fixed in the following.
From customizing weapons with mods and upgrades to earning armor and gadgets to help complete missions to the variety of objectives to the voice acting and parodies in cutscenes.
Everything about the series screams awesomeness.
The series consist of:
Ratchet and Clank
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
Ratchet and Clank: Up your Arsenal
Ratchet: Deadlocked
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (PSP)
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)
This is franchise that has delivered quality games that have completely restored my faith in platformers.

i still play it! Beat it over 300 times! LOT'S AND LOT'S OF BOLTS!
Spyro was SOOO much better. ::) Insomniac gave Spyro up because he couldn't hold any weapons. :(
The series has never interested me.. eheh.
Somebody needs to learn how to fully take off the sealing strips I see. :'(
Also, I cannot wait until I can purchase a PlayStation 3. :'(
