Since it's a slow week other than the stage maker, let's debate on all matters of Smash topics. I may edit this thread with more debates. ;D
The Debate:
Melee:As great as it could be?
Don't get me wrong. Melee is a pretty good game. But, there were a few things cut from the game that was in the original. First of all, both Snake and Pit were supposed to be in Melee. Pit was actually supposed to be in the original but was cut because he had a glitch problem with his wings. He was replaced by Jigglypuff. Enterances, which were in the original game were for some reason cut from the sequel. There were also many "clone characters" which play and sometimes even have the same moves as another character. Many people, like me, were saddened that Ganondorf was a clone. Most of these cuts were due to time restraints. Melee came out as a "launch window" title for the Gamecube and was rushed for release. So the more time a game tlike Brawl has in development, the better. But shouldn't the things mentioned above be priorities?
What do you think? Agree or Disagree? ;D
i disagree those things mentioned above are not as important as new feature, game-play or character design. yes it would've been nice but they were rushed. its still an awesome game!
Hmm... I disagree and agree on different parts.
Yes, character entrances and Pit/Snake would have been nice in Melee, but were they needed? No. And who doesn't like Jigglypuff? You are, however, right when you say that Melee was a little rushed. I did not see why it had to be a release game. Also, clone characters did get annoying, as there were about six in that game.
As for the move back of the release date for Brawl, I believe that - as Sakurai said - it will only make the game better. But if it is moved back again, there are probably problems with the game as a whole. I think that they want to make Brawl like Melee, only improving on the problems that were in Melee.
So, I partly agree on your statements.
