In this youtube video, it is trying to put a ban on DiHydrogen MonOxide
Watch the stupidity of the people in this clip.
(somewhat on the same topic as Totla's thread)
Water.
Let's replace it with soda :P

people are so stupid, how did they live this long? I'm suprised these people have not stuck a finger in an outlet hopeing to find gold or something.
Clips like these show how lacking our nation's education system is. :(

I know, but I am sharing a quote from family guy to portray the stupidity of an animated 15 year old.
heh there's lots of videos like this.
Yeah, It's funny, but I hate the hosts of that show. -_-

Why did scientists come up with such a confusing name for water? ???
Pointless dumbass scientist.

I think he just came up with that, seeing as there's no name for crap like Carbon Monoxide or Carbon Dioxide, other than CO
2 for Carbon Dioxide...
Yeah, I knew about that. It's pretty funny
Ok, I'll sign your petition.
Very old.

huh wut
Dihydrogen refers to 2 hydrogen atoms. Monoxide refers to 1 oxygen atom.
H
2O.

Scientists refer to "water" as "water". It's so common that we don't use the IUPAC naming system for it. Pretty much the only other chemical that has that honor is ammonia.
there are many more than those two, aren't there?
but if you're pressured into signing something like that, you're not going to think "Hmm, what's Dihydrogen monoxide?" You won't have heard of it before, because it's uncommonly used.
that's why this guy's show is poop.
not only because he's annoying.

You mean Penn and Teller? I saw them perform live once... It was pretty funny. :P

Yes, there are common names for many types of molecules. But if you wrote a scientific paper or something of the sort, those two would typically be the only ones that you'd call by their common names; you'd call water "water", and you'd call ammonia "ammonia".
You wouldn't call sodium chloride "table salt", and you wouldn't call nitrous oxide "laughing gas".
