Title: What type of computer are you saving up for?
Post by: ME86 on November 08, 2007, 07:27:58 PM
Here's what I'm saving up for: The Black Mac Book, with two gigs of RAM, and AppleCare Protection Plan.

I would go for four gigs of RAM and the two-hundred and fifty HDD, but for the sake of keeping it below two-thousand dollars I will settle for that. :-\

My God, I really need a job. ;-;

I'm not, because I don't have any source of income.
Even so, I wouldn't save up any buy a computer all at once unless it's a laptop. I'll just get the parts separately.

And boo @ the blackbook.

I would go for the base MacBook Pro, I mean it's only like $100 more than what I posted... But, for some unknown reason to me, I dislike the aluminium casing on the Pro models. :-\

Either this (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1710?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~section=specs#tabtop) or this (http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/).  As long as it can run Crysis, has WI-FI capabilities, and is cheap, I'll like it.  If it were up to me, I'd spend $5000 on a super-laptop, but I'm not the one saving for it...

Fine to me. The Macbook doesn't have a good enough video card for me.

My MacBook Pro should be perfectly capable for at least another year, and after that I'll probably upgrade to whatever Apple's latest pro portable is.

Yeah, that's mostly why I went with the MacBook Pro. Also, the 12" screen on the MacBooks is painful. Even the the MBP's is a little small sometimes.

Jeezus, tons of Mac fanboys here.

And my laptop is only a year old, probably not going to be buying another for a long time. Read: 4 or 5 years.

It's 13.3 inches. Not bad, but 15.4 inches is the best for a laptop. Also, the LED backlighting and the backlit keyboard are faptastic.

Yeah, I do like the backlit keyboard... but I got mine before the LED screens. :(

Now that I think about it, I want a laptop with a 2.4Ghz Dual Core processor, 2 Gigs of RAM and a 16 inch widescreen. Too bad it doesn't exist.

No new computer. Granted, I'm saving for some more RAM and a better GFX card eventually, but for now, I'm satisfied.
