Title: The video game market-where is it headed?
Post by: Mattinthehat on November 11, 2007, 06:23:24 PM
With the rising costs of developement and production costs, the games are increasing steadily in price. Do you think that it will cause a some sort of devastating event in the future-to crash per say?

The industry's much more stable now than it was in 1982.

Things can only head up for so long before crashing down.

The movie market never crashed and it's been around since like the 1920s.

Those that can't keep up with the high development costs stick with portables, mobile, and PC.

Movie market is too general. Parts of it are total crap, and parts are total awesomeness.

Friendly Hostile, I'm pretty sure what Tuppylover meant is that FINANCIALLY, the film industry is quite secure.

Anyhoo, I don't see any reason why there'd be a crash now, seeing that publishers and developers are making no small amount of money, especally Nintendo.

Prices have actually been somewhat steady.
Not so long ago we were paying $70 for a game.

I doubt a crash will happen.

True, but people in this industry have very little memory.
