I was interested in playing Fire Emblem (probably because of Super Smash Bros.) but before I purchased it, I was wondering how a Fire Emblem game actually plays out.
If anyone could tell me, it would be much appreciated.
;D
ever play advance wars? its kinda like that but unlike Advance wars you don't have generic soldiers, and if one dies they are dead for good
Fire emblem is turnbased, but not like Final Fantasy, its more like chess, infact, thats almost exactly what it is.

Except with a limited number of pieces through the entire game. All of which you should not let anyone die because they would be gone for good. Not to mention that you are going up against about a god 50 times as much enemies compared to you through out the game.
sorta like turn based, just dont let somone die ;D
They're strategy RPGs. They heavily plot-centric, but I guess you don't have to watch the cutscenes, some people don't. The rest of it is a trun based strategy game where you move your units across the map to attack enemy units. It's really spiffy, actually.
Well I never did play it but maybe I'll rent it one day.
If you're going to rent it, I'd suggest renting Fire Emblem; Path of Radiance. It's 3D, and (in my opinion) has a much better story line than Sacred Stones or Fire Emblem.

If that's the most recent one, then yeah that's the one I was planning to rent.
I didn't mean now though. I have enough games as it is for now.

I know you didn't mean now. The most recent Fire Emblem game is Radiant Dawn, which is a continuation of Path of Radiance.

Hmm... well see.
Here where I live, I think it'd be hard just to find any Fire Emblem game.

Yea, here too, the only one I saw was Sacred Stones in a neighboring island, but amazon should have it, that's where I got RD from. It's pretty much a chess rpg with permanent deaths and different classes.
