Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,
As you may have heard, Animal Crossing for the Wii console has been
announced in Japan. So far, there hasn't been an official announcement of
a release outside of that market. Unfortunately, we have not heard
any details about their game, nor if any of the features that you
mentioned such as holidays, more jobs, or the ability to catch lizards and
snakes may be included in the game.
There are many reasons that Nintendo or any other Japanese publisher
may decide to release a game solely for the Japanese market. These can
include difficulty or cost of localization, the size and financial
strength of the publisher, and (most often) the idea that the game will
simply not be accepted or enjoyed in other markets.
However, there are (like you) real fans of those games or franchises in
this market who would love nothing more than to see these games on
store shelves here. I understand (and sometimes even share) your
frustration! Having said that, please understand that those fans constitute a
very small portion of the gaming public, too small to justify the costs
associated with bringing a game here.
Of course, you never know what the future holds, as evidenced by the
appearance in this market of previously Japan-only franchises like
Advance Wars and Fire Emblem.
As you have seen, the message boards at www.nintendo.com have been
closed indefinitely. At this time the future of the forums is uncertain
and there are no plans to retain ranks, post count, etc. The forums were
made available in a Read Only format for one week so our fans could
preserve their favorite posts on their own computer. As was stated in
the message, you are encouraged to start new Nintendo forums elsewhere.
We appreciate all the support from our fans over the years. Your
feedback about the forums will be forwarded to the appropriate department.
Keep an eye on our website (http://www.nintendo.com/newsmain) for all
the latest news on future games and online features.

hey you guys, i was wondering when animal crossing wii was coming out
and would like to make a few suggestions for the game...
1. Bring back christmas and the other religious holidays
2. maybe add some more jobs you could do for nook whenever you like.
3. This probally wont happen but maybe add it so you can catch lizards
and snakes and other reptiles.
