We were at the Luau tonight (we're headed home on saturday) and it was a long wait for it to start.  we were sitting around waiting for the last group to get there for it to finally start.  when they did, they were the toyota corolla business group or something. :P

so food starts like... an hour later (don't know why we had to wait so frickin long), and we're the first table up.  I get my food, go back and eat, and when I'm almost done, I hear my mom laughing hysterically.

I look where she's looking and, well


you know those people that can eat like... 26 hotdogs?


this guy (in the corolla group, that we had to wait for) had piled his plate 3/4 of a foot high with food. (plates are about 8 by 16 inches or so)  He starts hacking away at it, meanwhile everyone around him is just laughing.  The bottles of beer are piling up on the table and it eventually becomes evident that he can't eat for much longer.  He does the stereotypical facepalm as he realizes he's taken way too much food.

but he gets another wind and keeps eating, to our amazement.  by this point I'm done dessert while this guy has made his way down past the meat and onto the pasta salad.  Meanwhile, mr steak, two seats to his right has finished the 8 steaks that were sitting on his plate, as well as the mountain of rice.

he once again has to pause to take a breather and drink some more beer before attacking it the rest of the way down to the salad.  My dad just starts laughing and has to take a picture.  the guy does the (again) stereotypical "peace" sign with a tomato lodged in his mouth, just grinning, probably as drunk as hell.

he doesn't get any further.  he grabs a smoke and heads outside.



the meal was finished, but they didn't clean his plate.  I had headed outside for a breather when I saw this guy getting more beer from the open bar.

"how much beer can I have?"

the bartender replied

"three more."

"only three?"

"only three."


I laughed as I walked past him and the lights went down and the dancing began.  His plate was still there, because it looked like someone had taken food and  not touched it, but really, really liked salad.


It came time for them to call up people from the audience to dance, and whaddya know, he volunteered.  He marches up to the stage and was behind every step of the dance by at least half a second. :P



The dancing ends & he sits back down before throwing his head back and falling asleep along with his girlfriend, steak guy, and most of the rest of his table.
