I got FF4 DS, but I never got around to finishing it once it GOT IMPOSSIBLE.

You mean FF3?  You just have to grind a little.  It doesn't have to be more complex than that unless you want to fly through the game.
You have to grind in every FF game to be able to beat it.

Right.

I'm trying to remember where I was... I know I beat Medusa, then I got captured in a castle or something. I swear, I couldn't level up without having one of my guys die.

castle hein yeah... i think that's the only dungeon in the game you can't return from.  if you have phoenix downs, the best strategy is just to make it out alive with at least one member.  it's still less than halfway in the game anyway so the experience you get isn't something you can't get back later on.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age. Excellent RPGs. Isaac should have been in Brawl as a playable character. They have the puzzle solve-y element kinda like LoZ, which is an original thing, especially in an RPG.

For DS, FFIII, if you enjoy EXP-grinders.

Lotos

Pok?mon Diamond or Pearl, get the one you don't have assuming you have one, as Pok?mon Farm will be out in less than 6 months.
