And the lame part is I can't do anything without contacting a lawyer and going to court, which I really don't want to do. It's messy and expensive, and my mom would freak.

You pretty much have a 100% success rate though, and get a nonprofit lawyer.
Yeah...but still, I don't want my mom to freak out over it, and I don't think it's worth it at this point.
