I just ordered some wiimote jackets

I figured that, i don't use them, but if friends come over with kids i should be prepared for something, so i'm getting jackets.

I like them.  But you have to take them off when you use the Wii Zapper - a bit of a bother, there.  I imagine the Wii Wheel is the same. 

Wise decision to go ahead & get them.  For little kids, and idiots who don't know what the heck they're doing, LOL  Plus, as you said, they're free, so why not??

It's good, but if you play games like Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Wheel, you have to remove the Jacket. It's a little bit of a hassle, but if you have accident-prone relatives who play with the Wii, go ahead.
