I'm happy, as I can now watch some channels in my room (inb4 pron, everyone uses the internet for that, that's what it's for).  The guy who came to advertise it around town when they finally got the system working in my neighborhood said that it's fast and people prefer it for online gaming- I wonder how true that is- so hopefully I won't have that firewall problem I get with people when I try to play online with them.  The only thing bothering me is that the Verizon guy had to use my laptop to get it connected to the router.  I hope he didn't go through my documents/web history  :-X

The firewall thing is your router, not your ISP connection.

As far as I know, Fiber is a bit less latent, but that's about it? It might be a bit faster, but that depends on how many others are using it.

I still think it's the other users' routers, as I can connect with some, but not others.

I have my own.  I meant that I can play with some users and not others.  I lost quite a few trades on Oldsider due to firewalls.
