Looking around my school, I find that I am in something referable to "the hood".
Broken down fences, empty buildings, old over-grown railroads tracks and architecture, and I think I saw a shopping cart on the sidewalk. D:

Not to mention a whole host of bruthas and wiggers prowling around...  :D
All this, and apparently this school of mine is one of the top 100 in the Nation...
We also had metal detectors installed last year. :O

Its a great school, but as for the locale its a little different than what you'd expect...

So, any interesting quirks about your school or the surrounding area?
Or your neighborhood for that matter.

Actually that's the same as me.

I go to a Private school in the middle of the ghetto, but we've never had metal detectors.

It's not a terribly bad neighborhood, but still the ghetto.

My school is filled with a bunch of drug dealers, rich people, and a bunch of Mexicans. Well that was last year but I expect nothing different.

Well, my town is the dumping grounds for sex offenders. We get a new letter almost every week, sometimes multiple.  We also have, I'd think, record breaking amounts of potheads.

We're hailed as one of the best schools on Long Island though. Imagine that?

I live in a small, German town in southern Texas. We don't do black people here. Sure, we get a Mexican every once in a while, but they certainly don't live here. I think the closest thing to a hood here are the cranky, old men that demand applause when they enter the room.

Well, now that I think of it, we did have one black family. But we drove them out long ago.
