Why is this happening?

Lately, for some strange reason, whenever I try using Link's recovery it he uses his clawshot instead. I never use the clawshot unless I want to fool my opponent into thinking I'm going to use the recovery or if I'm really close to the edge and am certain I will make it.

Here's the issue I'm having though:

Whenever I'm below a stage (not under), I always push Up + B to use the recovery.
But instead of me seeing him recover, he instead always uses his Clawshot. (And it's not me doing it)

What I would like to know is why it keeps doing that if I'm pushing Up + B on my controller.

Maybe it's an issue with your controller.

Have you tried using other controllers?

Java

Perhaps you accidentally changed the control scheme? Or it may be a problem with the controller...

Well, I'm actually a Sideways Wiimote user. And it never happens with it.

It's only been happening with my GC controller, which has been bringing my gameplay down. That may also be the problem.

So I'll probably drop that one and stick with my main, the Sideways Wiimote.

I'd check your control settings, you may've screwed em up, and switched recover to grab.

FruitFlow

Yeah, I'm gonna go check that out. That may be it.
Thanks for all the help guys. :)

You should also try doing the same move, but with a different GCN controller.

FruitFlow

Well guys, I checked my configurations and nothing has been changed.
I even switched the GC controllers and it still happens, but at random times.

... Why not just use the Wiimote and Nunchuck...?

I've tried that and didn't really like it one bit.
That's why I'm sticking with the sideways.

Is it still not working correctly?

FruitFlow

I think it might be fixed now.
It doesn't seem to be doing it anymore.
I'm still trying to figure out why it was doing it in the first place.
