Ok, I have government homework to do, and I need to list the cons of a republic (I don't have any). Anyone got any?
Puts the lotion on the skin or it gets the hose again!

Since it's not a direct democracy, elected officials might become corrupt and ruin the false democratic ideas behind the government.

Also, the effectiveness of a republic wears down as population increases.

We can't wait for 300 million people to vote on a basic law, now can we?

That's a direct democracy, not a republic.  A direct democracy is where all citizens vote on everything.  A republic is an indirect democracy, where people vote for officials to represent their views and vote for them.

That's more a fault of our republic, not republics in general.

That was a joke X_X:;

That was the fault of stupid americans who can't tell who would actually be a good president and who really has the people's best interests at heart (Not saying Kerry or Gore would, but dear god a guy like Bush couldn't give a rats ass about average schmucks like us)

I honestly couldn't see Kerry caring any more than Bush would.
