Gamecube memory card problem...

I was trying to play a GCN game a few days ago on my Wii, but when it tried loading the saved data, it said that there was a foreign device in the memory card slot. When I tried it on my GameCube, though, it worked fine. What's wrong?

It's a MadCatz 16x Memory Cube if that helps at all.

Maybe the problem is that it's a 3rd-party mem card? ::)

I'm pretty sure it used to work on the Wii.

I use the same one actually, and it works fine. That's odd.
