I can't imagine Sony just sitting back and relaxing. So yeah, I'd say we're going to see a new one regardless.

Especially since Nintendo seems content to make re-releases with minor upgrades.
Sony can't stop the DS, but if they can make significant enhancements, I can see them selling quite a few systems.
