The new Nintendo DSi is now avilable around the world and well, I thought I'd give my thoughts on it...
Why don't i start from the begining.

Turning it on
When you first turn on the system, you enter in all the systems settings, Birthdate, Parental settings, date, time...ect.
After you are done with the settings you get the usual DS lite welcome screen (bottom screen) it looks like they took the same image, but just scretched it, so it looks kinda blury...the top screen is just like the lite, except they added the 'i' although, this screen does not look scretched.

DSi Menu
On the top screen displays a random image from the internal memory of any picture you took.
On the bottom, you have 'channel' like icons, I reminds me a little of the iPhone menu's icons, you use the touch screen or the D-pad to move the icons right and left, using the stylus you can change the order of the icon by touching and moving it to where you want.

DSi shop
I think the Shop is one of the best features Nintendo added.
If you've heard of the Wii Shop Channel, and used it. Or the Playstation store, and the Xbox live arcade...just make that portable.

SD Card
So far the highest SD card tested and worked is a 8gb HCSD card, it could be higher, but I haven't heard about it.
The first time I inserted the SD card, I missed the small engraving on the SD lot cover showing how to insert it...so I tryed to put it in Label side up, but after a minute of a fist fight with the system and card, i noticed my mistake and put it in the right way :P

I remember reading somewhere the the DSi can read up to 8 folders deep...however, when you put music on the card, the DSi only displays the last folder to the music.

Case changes
-There's no GBA slot!
Yup, thats true, that means, No Gutair Hero and Pokemon trading with GBA games.
-No 'dual screen logo' on the top of the lid.
-Matte finish, so no finger prints, but is scratch friendly
-The L and R buttons are somewhat thinner and a added camera icon is on the button too.
-Power, is now a button!
You turn the Power on by a button that is at the bottom left hand of the touch screen.
When you are playing a game, or using the sound or photo, or anything, just push the power button, and it resets the system, if you want to turn in off, then push and hold.
-longer stylus
-Volume, button
The volume is changed from the slider to two buttons, - and +.
-Larger screen.
-The lid/top screen opens and closes with a little easyer, although it's not loose.
-Power plug is changed again.

Internet
The internet is fast.
If you're looking for Internet on the go, but don't have access to a laptop or computer, but you do have your DSi with you...turn it on and use it.
one of the videos that help to show the speed is this one...

The internet doesn't have flash, so that means no video playing, or any sites that use flash.
it won't show any of the flash...it will load the page, but it will load the page.

Music
The Music player is ok, it could be a little better...If you don't have an iPod, or don't want to carry it and your DSi around, then this is for you. I have an MP3 player, it's only a 512mb, so when I got a 4gb SD card, and plugged it into my DSi (after converting all my music) had all my music with me.

That's another thing...I converter all my music to .acc, but then I had to convert it all to .m4a.

End thoughts:
If you're a Nintendo fan, and you've had that DS lite for a year or two...or if you still have the phat.
I'd start thinking about the DSi, because it has DSi Ware, and soon to be Exclusive 'DSi enhanced' games.
Plus you get a camera, Music player, Internet and 1,000 DSi points...all in the mix!

It's a great system, if you're not completly sure about it, I might want to wait...but not to long.

*continues waiting for DS2*

The only extra version of a handheld I ever got was from GameBoy to GameBoy pocket...only because if you thought the DS brick was big, you've never seen the original gameboy. You needed pants three times your size in order to fit that in a pocket. X_X;;

What about the Gameboy Color?
