I don't think motion control belongs in gaming at all.

It's proven to be nothing more than a gimmick.  Even Nintendo seems to agree, as most big Nintendo releases let you use the GCN controller or Classic Controller.

hmm...motion control as it stands is a gimmick, but at the same time, we're making strides to total immersive 3D gaming where we just put on a helmet and we're totally in the game (remember that Nintendo ON mockup from 2005 or so?).  At that point, maybe it won't be a gimmick anymore.  Until then, though, yeah, I'd prefer a controller.

What a silly thing to say right before the release of MotionPlus. v:
With 1:1 control, there'd be no denying that it'd open possibilities far beyond that of a traditional controller.

The MotionPlus was doomed to be a gimmick from the start.  Unless Nintendo gives them out for free, not everyone will have them.  That means that developers will only implement it as a side-option, not into the main game.

At the current price-tag and the game that it's being bundled with, I personally won't be picking it up.  However, I'm not going to bash it any further since we have to see what will become of it.

"A report in Variety last week said Sony might be unveiling a motion-sensing controller at E3 that's more advanced than its Sixaxis (motion-sensing) controller. It will be shaped like a Wii temote"

I spy a typo.

Motion controls are terrible gimmicks. Like the person above me already said, most Wii games have awful motion controls......or they just throw them on when they aren't needed (Twilight Princess). Metroid Prime 3 is really the only game I can think of that was actually made better through motion controls.

Mario Galaxy? I really enjoyed it despite its linearness.
...Friend codes were probably implemented by the same people who wanted tripping in Brawl...
...It's quite obvious...
