Oh joyous topic title - what could this mean? A resignation? A firing? Why not both? Of course I am ignoring the Bulletin Board, so it must be important.

But what? NSFCD will be going offline sometime on New Year's Eve for critical maintenance. Some of our files are outdated a great amount, and we are facing some...frustrating error messages.

We want to ensure 2010 starts off strong, so we've decided to give the gift that keeps on giving, all year round. Maintenance. We sincerely wish you the best this New Year's Eve (don't drink and drive, kids)...but our services (sans QDB and Wiki) will not be open for you. :(

Also Chatspike doesn't have their Java IRC, so if you follow through to Mibbit.com make sure you put (I don't want to lose users.)

Good. Because, if I was having psychic dreams about NSFCD, that would probably be a hint to run far away from here and not come back. :O

Across our time zones, sans Pacific, it is now New Year's Eve. This means the forum could be going offline at any time - but will likely start mid-day. The duration of this downtime is thus far unknown, but should not be horribly excessive.
