Concerning the lack of a spine

I feel the need for a public service announcement. First of all, this is not a discussion. This is how it is. As such, you don't get the chance to reply. Feel free to pm me your thoughts, but otherwise, hi.

Lately, we've had a problem with our population. I just wrote my Biology final, so let's take a Biology look. Humans are part of the phylum chordata. That means we have spinal cords. It's brilliant, eh?

Another interesting thing about humans is that our forebrain is enlarged compared to the rest of the animal kingdom. This means we're capable of some degree of higher thinking, memory, etc. By no means does this make us the smartest, or anything similar, as that is truly relative. But what it does mean is that there is no excuse for the bullpoop going on here.

You see, I've been sitting back a bit more lately and simply observing. What I noticed is a lack of due care and respect. In front of one another, it seems, we are fully capable of remaining civil. But the minute one leaves chat, or the forum, or whatever - they're the hot topic. I saw it a few times tonight.

While I am aware it tends to be limited to a group of people that don't particularly get along, I am also aware that it's completely illogical. Let's bring up the chordata point. I understand that when someone is an ass to you irl, you don't just up and deck them...well, usually. Instead, you get your little group of girlfriends around and gossip for weeks, hoping to ruin their chances with Johnny. (He's so cute).

Of course, this is not real life. This is the intercourse ing internet. Anonymity. Of all times where you can speak your mind on a person, this is it. Frankly, these issues need resolved. Use that god given spine of yours and actually speak up. The way I see it is this - if we don't fix this poop, it's going to boil over. So I'm giving you right to constructively criticize anyone and anything on this site.

Instead of this inate backstabbing, let's sort things out. These chat discussions (sans the topic, of course) are as useful as tits on a block. Colourful idea, but you get the point. Which really does bring me to the other point. That forebrain of yours needs to know the difference between being an asinine prick who is going to wind up banned, and constructively approaching a situation.

For once in your lives, I want you to use that brain of yours. If someone has reason to be blatantly offended by your idiotic stance, then, you guessed it, you're an idiot. For your own sake, offer solutions not statements. Frankly, if you are unable to comprehend this, I'm going to offer the final solution.


However, we have the straight up, wimpy ass, lame as hell, excuses for trolling and flaming on this site. I'm not tolerating the direct attacks on people anymore. Or the subtle ones. Each of you is a human being. I appreciate that you may not get along. Boo hoo: live with it or leave the site. Being an poop hole is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. It really is.  But there comes a point when lines are crossed. That point comes when users no longer feel welcome here. Comfortable. When that point comes - our duty, my duty, is to examine the scope and ask "what are we doing wrong?" This is what. Be an ass...fine. It makes life fun for all of us. But be controlled, and be able to stop.

Sure, there's your e-penis. Let the darn thing grow: lord knows your real one won't. But hey, if all of our e-penis' grow proportionally...doesn't that mean your small one is still the smallest? Yep.

Which, as luck has it, brings me to another point. What do you do in the event someone is an ignorant little pissant? Simply, use that dandy report to moderator function. Offer input on how it is not productive and why we, the mEdIators, should intervene.

Don't get riled up. Don't be a intercourse tard. Don't get self important. While we like your company here - you're not above everyone else. This also means that you, yes YOU, need to accept the constructive criticism as that. I swear to god that I hate no person more than the one who is blind to their faults and ignores a good piece of advice. Fall into that group and problems arise.

And honestly, most of us do. We're oil and water - the whole lot of us. Frankly, I don't give a intercourse . The common denominator is that we call this site home. It's as simple as that. We're all humans...but some of us lack the ability to use what nature provides. On the other hand, we're all built pretty well the same. As such, there's no reason for us not to civil.

Finally, issues are bound to persist. Cabin fever is setting in - and I think we all appreciate that. People we knew and loved start to grind our gears. We get it. However, maturity is an amazing thing. If we can address issues before they ARE issues, we'll be fine. Don't be afraid of speaking up when you do it appropriately. And by no means should you be offended if you're singled out - it just means we care. But at the same time...both sides need to do so respectively. I leave with you a few short sentences. Heed them.

Cut the poop. End the backstabbing. Use your spine. Don't get offended. Stay cool. Think. It goes a long way.

Edit: There's some confusion in my post. I'm saying I want to see some conflict - enough of this behind the scenes bullpoop where you have little secret meetings. Enough of the isolation. If you want war, fine, make war. At least it'll be done and over with. If you want to be an ass - be one. But when users start leaving - you're held accountable. We need to co-exist. That falls on all of us.
