Remember those things?  What were some of the most outrageous 'cheats' you've ever seen?

One sticks out for me.  I always used to go on this site, supercheats.com.  I was looking up Pokemon Yellow cheats, and one was "Have sex with your mom."  To do this, you had to catch a Pokemon in those 2 squares of grass where Oak wouldn't alert you, then bring the Pokemon back to your mom.  Then you would see an 8-bit hentai scene.

I heard if you press A+B+Up while trying to catch a Pokemon, you'll catch it easier!

the one that woks in a way, is if you press A + B alternately it speeds up the process. I don't know if it makes it easier, but it makes it go by faster

I did not know this.

Also, game shark ftw. Best cheat though was in Vigilante 8, to unlock Y. I couldn't get him any other way.
