Pink Floyd's epic rock opera of an album, The Wall, deals with a single, central theme. Isolation.

The Wall is a symbol of self-isolation, literally blocking any outside contact. You have no one but yourself, and basic living needs.

What would it be like, inside the Wall? How long could you last? There might even be a few of you who would enjoy it. Would you?

The Wall is a figurative wall, as in, not an actual concrete slab. It's simply you isolating yourself from the entire outside world, whether you be in a large jail cell at an abandoned prison or on a deserted island.

When things get me down I usually just withdraw to myself for a little while, but not very long. Its easy to find safety in loneliness, but after awhile it just gets too lonely.
