NSFCD, Hadaway, and Ichimonai

Proposal:

I don't like this Ambassador thing. I feel like it'll cause migration more than it will strengthen bonds. Our members to Hadaway/Ichi or their members to us, I don't, but either way migration should not happen.
So, I have a suggestion that would need to be well thought over.

Propose a merger with one or both of the sites. It could possibly be exactly what we need.
"FCD failed after we merged." I believe this is because NSF was fairly larger than FCD, and they felt unwelcome, right?
Well, our active userbase isn't too enormous right now. Physically, we're a larger forum, but activitywise, as far as I can tell, we're about the same.
I feel like merging would be a smooth integration due to the similar size in active userbases.

If Ichimonai, re-create the anime board as it's own board and put a little more emphasis on the TF2 board. Everything else should integrate fairly easily.
If Hadaway, everything should go smoothly anyway since we're relatively similar.

Now, with BFB and SkyMyl, instead of "Ambassadors", they could be "Peace Keepers", if either merge happens, they can be responsible for trying to get people to get used to eachother, since they know members from both sides. TK and others can also help.

The biggest issue would have to be dealt with by Silver, since the owners of each site would have to work out how the ownership would be divided, if it even was.

This could be exactly what we need, and the more I think about it, the more I like it.

As a representative of Ichimonai's staff, I will say that no merge will be welcome involving them. With Hadaway's new birth, it is not likely (or worthwhile to pursue).

The Ambassador program will not cause a migration. I'd like to delve into more, but until the program has run its course, we will not be accepting any other proposals.

Not a bad idea, but in the past merges haven't quite worked out so well. Figuring out staff is one major issue, for sure.

I should point out, not trying to be offensive, it is the brashness of NSFCD in blatantly suggesting forums merge into us that drives them away. I have pursued interests with multiple websites, and, to be frank, they up frontedness of our users is always a detractor. Ichimonai is hosted by Syntax - he won't give that up. FH won't give up hosting Hadaway. There are just so many factors one needs to consider in a merge that prevents it from working. Above all else, the compatibility of our users.

Ichi, Had, and NSFCD are separate entities for many reasons. I've had extensive talks with the owners of both sites - they don't feel compatible with us. And I agree. We are separate beings that just aren't meant to be together. However, both Pote and Mush have expressed that our common goals, yet different approaches, make things marketable and potential for relations between us: a network of sites built around mutual growth. All three sites believe it can happen, and after research, I can see why. Users will stick to their home forum. The odd user may change here or there, but what you'll see is that as one comes to a dead spot, its users may post on another. Events will have more participation, etc. This is our goal: assimilation is not.
