Given that you know beforehand whether it's retarded or has some sort of deformity.

Oh, no. A somewhat serious thread, and I'm also bored.
YEAH

Super

BOREDFOREVER

When I was having my first kid, they offered to give us a test for it.  So we could "plan" in case there was down syndrome.  We politely refused.

So I guess my answer is no, I wouldn't.  I understand the logic behind it, and how some people could see this as a mercy thing.  I just don't feel that way.

Hmm, that would REALLY depend on the situation. If it was a seriously bad deformity, I probably would. Something that would leave it seriously disabled throughout life (that kind of thing where, he/she has to spend all day in a wheelchair and get assistance with EVERYTHING) would convince me to have it aborted. I'd honestly rather do that than let the kid suffer.

If it's like a minor case of Downs or something, I'd keep it. That's not TOO bad.

If I had a partner and he ended up pregnant, I'd kind of want to see what happens. For science.

I know it's immoral, but given the situation that such a child has to go through a life of suffering, it might be better if that never happened. Besides, you gotta be a millionare to be able to support one, with healthcare being very.... unkind nowadays.

Considering I wouldn't want my child to suffer from something so debilitating, I would.

I don't think I'd kill off my future child like that, even if they had some condition that was troubling.

You'd rather let the poor thing suffer? ;_;

I don't think I could look at my child every day to see him suffer, if it was that bad of a condition. I'd feel too bad.
