Since when is reading the Newspaper not reading?

Silly, silly school rule.
For reasons unknown to me, they wish to deprive children from knowledge of the outside world.  Whenever we get told to read, it has to be a bound book, aka: No Newspapers.

Really depends on the magazine. If it's educational in the least, mostly.

The whole thing about reading started because 90% of the school appears to be illiterate and had miserable scores on English finals last year, despite being in High School.
