1.) Great, this would make a ton of variety when using olimar and it would allow for very spontaneous gameplay. However, it might be a little akward, seeing as your pikmin might be lost easily. (Thank god for Down-B) It stays true to the game and for what it lacks in conveneince it makes up for in creativity and fun.

2.) Meh... Its a little strange and doesnt give you much control over the characters moves and if the pikmin dissapear too quickly your left wide open for attack since you have to go about making new ones... Your not really going to be able to plan in advance much, and you might find yourself using the shift attack more often then actually attacking.

3.) >_< This is a very poor choice of moves, forget createfulness. You dont really have any shot at easily completed combos or even metagame potential seeing as his moves are inconsistent. He could still be great, but you would need to be very very comfortable with this character in order to create a gameplan on the fly since your pikmin setup will be varied. And the defensless period seems a little much for serious play seing as runninng around and trying to dodge an onslaugt would take more speed than olimar looks capable of....

RECOVERY
It sucks

thunderhero4

olimar has strong moves to make up for it...im guessing...

I love his move's. And I can't wait to use him. He was the only newcomer I desired greatly.

I'm guessing olimar at least has the A moves.
Not without pikmin...
In casual play, he will be fine.
In competitive... i think not.

Nayrman

All I can say is his smash attacks need to own and his arial game has to be top notch to make up for it.

Olimar has demonstrated physical prowess. Nothing impressive, but A attacks should be present. Not smashes.

and you know that how? sakurai didn't say all of his moves take pikmin, just the specials and the FS...I highly doubt the game makers would be idiotic enough to make olimar completly useless without pikmin.

And why not?
I thought defensless was pretty clear...

Maybe throws but thats about it...
Of course we will have to wait, but it seems as if Sakurai is sticking to the original game
in making olimar useless.

But seriously how many people use constant B moves in Tournaments? Not many. So if Olimar has good A moves it doesn't matter about his B Moves does it?

There will most likely be those who will set out to master him, because people might look at him as an underdog.
