I'm going to donate to Wikipedia.

They're doing another fundraiser thing, just asking for donations. I'm going to give them $50 or so, I think... I realized that Wikipedia is where I automatically go for a summary or information about absolutely anything, and I probably give the site about 80-90 page views daily. My quest for knowledge would be significantly less convenient without it. :P

Not to mention most of the funds seem to be going to not only keeping the site up, but to expanding to developing countries and distributing Wikipedia DVDs, offline versions to schools, etc. Knowledge is power, and education is one of the most important things for developing areas of the world.

So I'd just feel good about giving them money, and you all should too (just click the link on the banner at the top of every page there), because Wikipedia is truly one of the better things the internet has ever seen.

While I agree that Wikipedia is one of the best places on the internet, and practically THE best for knowledge and information, I'm not really in any position to have any money that I am capable of donating.
