Krystal

Note: I made this because Tamjammerz hasn't done an analysis lately.  :robotsad:

Summary: Krystal is a female vixen from the Star Fox series. She first appears in Starfox Adventures as a damsel-in-distress. She is an orphan, her parents killed by Andross during an attack on her home planet of Cerinia. Originally, Krystal was meant to be the main heroine in a Rare-made game called Dinosaur Planet.

This is what Dinosaur Planet was originally going to be. Krystal in Dinosaur Planet was a female 16-year-old feline. Nintendo took the project, transforming it into Starfox Adventures. Fox became the protagonist, and Krystal was left with the role of damsel-in-distress.

At the beginnning of the game, Krystal intercepts a distress signal from Dinosaur Planet, later named Sauria and loses her magic staff. She confronts the villain, General Scales on his galleon. The General throws her off his ship, but she is saved by the Cloudrunner, a pterodactyl-like dinosaur that can fly. She journeyed to Krazoa Palace, where she finds a Krazoa Spirit, peace-making spirits. Upon saving the Spirit, an unknown villain (later revealed) attacks her, trapping her in a crystal at the center of the palace. She is barely alive, waiting for someone to save her. This someone turns out to be Fox McCloud.

Fox journeys across Sauria, finding and releasing the Krazoa Spirits and finding the Spellstones, magical energy sources that help hold the planet together. At the end of the game, Krystal is released, and the villain is revealed to be Fox's archenemy, Andross. Fox defeats the simian from his Arwing and apparently destroys him. Krystal joins the team.

Later, in Star Fox Assault, Krystal is a full-fledged member of the Star Fox team, replacing Peppy. She accompanies Fox on several missions and openly flirts with him, particularly after the Aparoid invasion on Sauria. Her and Fox's relationship apparently heightens in this game.

In Star Fox Command, Fox forces Krystal to leave the team out of love. She joins Star Wolf, and runs into Star Fox on multiple missions. Her unique ship in this game is the Cloudrunner. She appears in several endings in the game. In one, she rejoins and promptly leaves Star Fox once more. Another has her marrying Fox and having a son named Marcus. One leaves her ashamed and alone, becoming a bounty hunter called Kursed. It is unknown if any of these endings are canon.

Now on to the real part of the analysis. Here are some arguments against her.

1. She is a clone.

Response: How? She has a magic staff. She could easily have a unique moveset.

2.She's a girl.

Response: What does that have to do with anything?

3. She would take the spot of a more deserving Star Fox rep.

Response: No, she wouldn't. What other Star Fox characters are viable candidates to be in Brawl other than Wolf?

Krystal has a lot going for her.

1. She is a major character in the Star Fox series, being Fox's love interest since her original appearance.

2.Star Fox has only been represented so far by Fox and a clone, Falco. While Falco could be decloned, Krystal has a lot of possibilities for a moveset.

3. She would add to the growing list of female Smashers.

Here's a Krystal moveset (I'm too lazy to include standard A moves, so it only has special attacks and Final Smash) :

Standard B: Fire Blaster: Chargeable. Krystal shoots up to six fireballs depending on how long you charge. The fireballs create a small explosion upon impact.

Side B: Ice Blaster: Krystal fires her Ice Blaster. It has a medium range, and freezes foes similar to the Ice Climbers' Down B.

Up B: Rocket Boost: Similar to Fox's Up B. Krystal's staff glows blye for a little bit, then she rises into the air with a burst of blue light from the staff. It does less damage than Fox's Up B, but she goes further up. You can control the direction.

Down B: Ground Quake: Krystal pauses for a moment, then jumps into the air, staff glowing. She slams the staff into the ground upon landing, creating a blue shockwave that damages whoever it hits.

Final Smash: Option 1: Super Ground Quake: Works best on flat stages like Bridge of Eldin. Similar to the Ground Quake, but the shockwave is harder to dodge and does more damage.

Option 2: Dinosaurs: A Cloudrunner, Sharpclaw, and Earthwalker appear. Krystal can jump on the Cloudrunner and Earthwalker and control them. The Sharpclaw attacks wildly. When Krystal controls the Earthwalker, the standard attack button activates a short charge, the special attack button activates fire breath, and the jump button makes it jump. When controlling the Cloudrunner, standard attack button makes it flap its wings and cause damage, special button shoots a fireball, and control stick makes it fly. The uncontrolled dinosaurs will attack randomly.

Overall, Krystal has an 85% chance to be in Brawl as playable. She's too important to be an Assist Trophy.

So how did you like my first original analysis?

Not bad. I do agree that she deserves a spot in Brawl, but I'm not sure it'll go down like that. If it does, however, right on!
