You can get bankrupt. Say that somebody has a hotel on Boardwalk, you land on it, auction all your properties to other players, and still don't have enough money to cover it. What happens?

there are way too many crazy rules that can keep the game from ending.  I think the creators were trying to devise quite a long game...

I really dont know how long Ive played it. I do know that I love the NES version of monopoly. Also, I won a free game download from that McDonalds monopoly game and Monopoly was the game I chose to download. Its on my laptop and Ive been playing it everynight. I hope NES Monopoly comes to the virtual console.
