The Leader of Star Wolf: Wolf O'Donnell

A Few Words From TamJammerz...

Hi, my name is TamJammerz. Back in the old NSider forums, I was known throughout the Smash Bros. Board as "The Great Analyzer" (courtesy of SS_Dan for coming up with the title). I recently heard about the rebuilt NSider Forums, so I decided to sign up... And it seems a few other refugees did, also.

Why did I come here? Well, I came to, once again, spread my analyses for fans of the Smash Bros. franchise... And people familiar with my analyses will also be in for some newer content. I'm now providing a lot more in-depth info, details, and crisper movelists to be coupled with my articles.

This is the 2nd Newcomer Analysis in my Newcomer Analyses series. Other Newcomer Analyses include:

1. The Infamous Space Pirate: Ridley

2. The Lord of Grandbell: Sigurd

3. The Shining Fighter Robo: Ray 01

4. The Grand Master of Terror: Black Shadow

Who is Wolf?

Game/Franchise - Star Fox
Orientation - Evil
Other Info - Fox's biggest rival and leader of the Star Wolf team, Star Fox's rival team. He is the best in the Lylat System when it comes to piloting the Wolfen.
Chances of being in Brawl as a playable character - 85%

When Wolf's team was hired to take down Star Fox, Wolf wanted nothing but to fulfill Andross' orders and to kill Fox. The Star Wolf team ultimately failed their mission, causing Wolf to seek revenge for his own personal reasons.

Years later, Wolf plans on taking down the Star Fox team once more, but the later invasion of the Aparoids brings out a new meaning to Wolf's plans. When Fox was ambushed by Aparoids on top of the Persimmon's Building in Corneria City, Wolf flew in to his rescue. However, he claims the only reason he did so was to kill Fox off himself later. It was at this point that Wolf told Fox "Don't hesitate. When the time comes, just act.", which got Fox through some later internal struggles. Despite this, he maintains his rivalry with and the dislike of the Star Fox Team and Fox in particular.

Star Wolf pilots a ship, similar in style to that of an Arwing, called the Wolfen. Wolf is the best Wolfen pilot and flies up to par, if not better, than any other pilot in the galaxy.

Why should Wolf be in Brawl?

There are tons of reasons of why he should or shouldn't, but the chances of him being in as a playable character out-weighs all other chances.

Wolf would be a fine addition in Brawl. Fox would finally have a rival to fight against and would add to the Star Fox and villain roster for Smash Bros.

An recent argument against him, though, is that one of Fox's alternate colors (at least, in the E For All demo) closely resembles Wolf. I personally don't think this would affect his chances, as Mario has a Wario recolor (for further discussion on this issue, click here), but we'll just have to wait and see.

Will Wolf finally be able to accomplish his goal of taking down Fox? Let's hope so... I mean, uhhh... Nevermind  :|

What would Wolf be like in Brawl?

Wolf would be similar to Fox, but with a few differences. First of all, Wolf would be less nimble than Fox. Wolf is noticeably less graceful and fast when compared to Fox. Wolf would have about an average running speed. Wolf would gain the upperhand when it comes to power, though.

Also, Wolf would make good use of his arsenal of weapons to overcome and pick off his foes.

Overall Status

Power - 3.5/5 (Wolf can pack a punch, but still lacks a little bit of girth to him)
Range - 2/5 (Wolf's attack require him to really reach for his opponents because of his short arms and legs)
Attacking Speed - 3/5 (Although not as fast as Fox, Wolf can still be pretty speedy)
Running Speed - 2.5/5 (Not as nimble as Fox, but not as slow as Bowser, either)
Jumping - 2.5/5 (Wolf is just in the middle in this area)
Height - 2/5 (Medium-Short)
Weight - 3/5 (Medium)

Who says Wolf has to be a Fox clone...

Special Attacks

B: Machine Gun - Hold B to keep firing. Wolf will pull out a Machine Gun from Star Fox: Assault and fire forward a stream of lasers (not bullets :D). Wolf can only fire so much before he has to reload for about 3 seconds. Wolf can move and jump while firing the Machine Gun.

Smash B: Sniper Rifle - Press B once to get the Sniper Rifle out and press B again to fire. Press A to cancel out of it. When pulled out, Wolf will crouch down. Use the control stick to aim the Sniper Rifle along a red aiming line that extends out from the Rifle's barrel. Firing this gun whill shoot out a lightning fast beam (not bullet :D) that causes huge damage and knockback. This attack can be dangerous to use, though, because there is a 5 second lag in between shots, and you can't take away the Sniper Rifle during this period of time, either. The enemy can also see the red aiming line, and use that to avoid the Rifle's line of fire.

Down B: Sensor Bomb - Press Down B once to place the bomb and press Down B again to set it off manually. When placed, any object (excluding Wolf) that walks or moves over it will cause the bomb to set off and explode. Wolf can also manually set off the bomb by press Down B after it is present on the field.

Up B: Booster Pack - Wolf quickly straps on a Booster Pack and flies upward. Use the control stick to direct Wolf's flight path. Enemies can also get damaged if they get in the flight path of Wolf.

Final Smash: Wolfen Assault - Wolf summons his Wolfen and flies off the screen. Wolf will then fly around the screen, firing at opponents on the field. It's not just Wolf that will be flying around, though... He will be aided by Leon, Pigma and Andrew. All 4 of the Wolfens will fly around, with you controlling Wolf's Wolfen. Press A to fire lasers, and press B to fire bombs. You don't get to control Wolf's flight path, though. Wolf will fly around on his own.

Do you have an account on Nsider2? Because I saw something very similar but with the Animal Crosser.

I was on NSider2 for some time, but have since quit there... For reasons.

But yeah, I have a small cluster of analyses over there. I never did an Animal Crosser analysis, though...

I haven't seen the Fox recolor for Wolf.  Somebody please put a picture on or tell me that it's not a great immatation of Wolf.  I'm so sick of Sakurai putting on guys like Pokeman Trainer and Lucas and making us think the chances of your wanted characters are decreasing.  The demo revealed alotta stuff

Pikachu with goggles  (Is Pichu in danger?)
Fox with Wolf recolor
Sonic with Shadow recover (I could care less about him)
Peach with Daisy again  (Daisy can't get in now).
