Why would anyone think that Nintendo would do another redesign on the DS?

According to at least one analyst, Nintendo's not just resting on its laurels while the DS Lite produces incomprehensible piles of cash. Evan Wilson, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities, got word from his inside source that a DS redesign is actually already done, and Nintendo's just waiting around for DS Lite sales to cool off a bit -- which, unfortunately for those pining for new hardware, doesn't seem to be happening just yet. The redesign, which has been rumored before, supposedly is thinner thanks to the absence of a Game Boy Advance port, includes a larger screen and rocks some built-in storage, which we imagine could have some great uses in the right hands. Obviously, Nintendo's Game Boy Advance only made it through three hardware iterations, which begs the question of when we'll see a brand new handheld platform from Nintendo, though we can't say we'd blame them for sticking to this generation for another couple years of insane wealth and staggering stock price.

Seriously, the Gameboy Micro failed so why would Nintendo try to do two redesigns again?  ::)

Wut, no GBA port? That was one of the major selling points of the DS. :(

Ain't no way I'm getting it if that's the case.  :P

The Gameboy Micro couldn't play original Gameboy games. ::)

the gba port was a big reason why i bought the ds, if theres no gba port screw it.
BTW if theres no gba port how are they gonna use the rumble pak?

:O I never even thought Nintendo would even consider making a new handheld for years. I think they're becoming money-hungry. :(
I honestly hope it doesn't happen. :P

they should make a GB. I know the DS took the place of it but if they make a new GB thats not touch screen or stuff like that it could sell >_>

Unless it includes moar RAM or something or enters the 8th gen, why would I buy it? Some games and accessories REQUIRE the GBA port.

What I would want, however, is a handheld system similar to the DS with the power of a Gamecube and higher dot pitch on the screen spam;
