Which is better (my only options, sorry)

JPEG
4 (66.7%)
Bitmap
0 (0%)
Both are at the same level of suckiness.
2 (33.3%)

Yes, this is a burning question...  I don't know which saves pictures as a better quality...

I want to know so my... picture for a certian project looks the best it can.

I prefer PNG.  You can also copy the picture (ctrl+a then ctrl+c), save it as a  gif, then paste the picture and save again to get better quality pictures for animation.

Bitmap apparantly takes up a lot of space, or so I'm told, and JPEG may intercourse  up the picture quality.

JPEG is a smaller file, but less quality. BMP is a bigger file, but better quality. I'd go with JPEG.

Bitmap preserves the colors perfectly, but has a rather large file size.

I say bitmap because jPegs are fuzzy.

For bitmap users, I pose you a question: what the hell image would need that kind of preservation?

Use jpeg, though, as others have said before me, png is better in almost every case.

I know PNG is the best out there, but I have only those 2 choices for what I am going to do.

I guess I could use that kind of preservation, though...

Needless to say, it's for something that JPEG fuzziness would ruin a lot.
