I used to use it. I use Frostwire now if I ever feel the need to use P2P, which is pretty rare these days.

Obviously not. :P It is likely that the viruses on your system came from limewire or another "downloading" source.  Though it is quite possible that running the NFES games may lag your system, seeing as Java is a large memory consumer.
