Just saying. I think it's actually plausible. He seems to be overpowered with his Pikmin.

He's got 6 at a time, which even if a Pikmin is KO'd, they can be replaced:
One which poisons (gradual damage, lips stick)
One which can KO without much effort (baseball bat, but thrown)
One who is immune to fire (Bowser and Charizard are screwed)
Four of the five can latch on to a person.

I can imagine it being VERY annoying having Pikmin constantly latched onto you.

The only upside is that his Standard B and Down B have no offensive use.

well...u dont just get to pick what kind of Pikmen you get..different ground types get diffrent pikmen..so if u get him early before they get them...
<Insert amazing beautiful sig here>

Dawei

They don't usually ban characters, unless there is someway that they can get an infinite on every stage. As long as it isn't every stage, they usually just ban the stages.

Zora Link

I doubt it, just because of the moves that do nothing.

Macawmoses

The fact he can not attack without them, however, leads me to believe he will be fine ;)

How do you know that Purple pikmin are home-runners? Pikmin are short-lived, and the lag-time for plucking could be decent. I'm sure the opponent could dissatach the pikmin, and if you launch Olimar, and his pikmin are on you, how will he recover? Or even attack?

Edit: Purple pikmin are Slowwww in pikmin 2..

It says purple hit hard, not that it is a instant KO.

Wait... tournaments? Isn't that the place where everyone uses Fox anyway? >_>

I highly doubt they will ban a character.

Dude .

Olimar, to me, seems like tad of a handicap sometimes. Dodging Pikmin is probably like, if not easier than, dodging thrown items. Which can be easy at sometimes.

OKay, there's a defense thingy called the shield.  This prevents you from getting hit by the Pikmin.  Also, Olimar has a downfall.  If you continously attack him he'll never have the chance to get his Pikmin out which he needs in order to make an attack.  He'd have to be pretty fast to counter such agressive fighting from his enemies.  It seems Sakurai made Olimar pretty fair.
