Andy(Nintendo Wars: Advance Wars)

Who is Andy?

Andy is the main protagonist of the Advance Wars franchise's first two games. In Advance Wars: Dual Strike...Jake took his spot. And in Advance Wars: Day of Ruin Andy's not even appearing. Anyways Andy is one of the lead Commanding Officiers of the Orange Star Army. His biggest field is repairing units on the battlefield, which his is why his CO Powers are Hyper and Max Repair, which repair his units. Andy's been cloned twice in the series and is the most significant character in the Nintendo Wars franchise.

One of the world's most significant franchises.  It inspired modern turn based war games and started the "grid" system displayed in most turn based games nowadays. Two notable franchises it help start were Fire Emblem(Video above) and Panzer Tactics. What seperated from most war games were the memorable commanders(each with there own special power or skill) and unit types. It also inspired Fire Emblem: Radient Dawn's second front system. As you can see it's the biggest franchise that's left not represented in a huge manner in the Smashbros series. Here are the games in the franchise:

Nintendo Wars in Smashbros?



Yes it is already repped in the series. In SSBM...if you went to the random "name" select, various Commanding Officier's names would show up! Which include: Andy, Max, Sami, Olaf, Grit, Nell. And in a demo video. Advance Wars Armies were confirmed as Assist. Unit from the franchise confirmed were "Infantry, Tank, [A airunit was also confirmed....maybe a Bomber, B-Copter, or Fighter]". It's currently unknown if each player were to get there own army color...

I'm going to counter most reasons againest him. Right here and right now.

@Why would he be in over other various COs?

Because he's the most significant to the franchise and is the main protagonist. What about Yuan Delta, Ed, Jake, or Herman? Because through there important...they only appeared once. And Herman has little chance over Andy.(Through I would take Grit or Kanbei over Andy anyday).

He's not popular enough.

When did popularity ever play a role over significance? IT NEVER DID. Anyways through Andy's popularity in the fanbases are very low compared to many of the other Commanding Officiers...the franchise is still popular enough to have someone important playable. The franchise always did pretty well, specificly Europe(France and Germany). That's why there getting the game first over the United States or Japan.

He never fought before and all he did was command.

Neither did Captain Falcon, Fox, Falco, or Pokemon Trainer(All he did was command). Fighting ability does not matter. The only thing that matters is if Sakurai wants to make up a moveset for him or not. For all we know Andy can use a moveset based on a grunt from Battalion Wars.

There are more deserving characters.

Duh. Andy over someone like Ridley would be insane for Sakurai to have done. However when I say deserving characters...I mean something like 200 Mario characters or a extra character from a franchise that does not need to be over repped. Like Raiden for the Metal Gear franchise or Shadow for the Sonic franchise.

We already have Snake. Would Andy be a Snake clone?

No. Since Snake's moves make use of various weapons...Andy would only use what? Three or Four weapons. Andy would also play like a sword wielder...cept he would swing wrenches at you instead of a blade or sword. Andy ways there from different genres and Advance Wars is a bit "brighter" then Metal Gear.(Well except for Advance Wars: Day of Ruin).

He did not appear on Sakurai's Journal or even then the polls!

So Sonic did not appear on the journal or polls too. So why is he on the site? Huh? HUH!? Sonic...as in the most wanted character on NSider. Do you think Dr.Kawashima from Train your Brain as a greater chance then Sonic? Just because he appeared on Sakurai's Journal and Sonic did not? EXACTLY. The journal is only telling you who we would expect to be represented in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. IN ANYWAY, SHAPE, OR FORM.

Since I have countered all of the logical reasons....I'll list some really bad ones I've heard in the past.

"He was never displayed in 3d. HOW CAN HE BE EVEN PLAYABLE!?"(Marth...Roy...)
"He would be too weak"(Hince Tiers)
"He looks annoying"(He sure does)
"The Advance Wars AT means he's out"(Or it could mean generic grunts are out. Those arent Commanders...just random armed forces)

Moveset

I'm only going to do special moves....why? Does are the only ones I remember before NSider was deleted.

B Move(Bazooka)[Taken from Battalion Wars]

Andy pulls out a bazooka and launches in infront of him. There stronger then Samus's Missiles. But slower and more predictable. If you were to charge this move up. It would still do the same amount of damage. But cause much more significant knockback and it would go at a much faster rate. 15% Damage

B Upward Move(Magic Cursor)[Taken from Famicom Wars]

A little box(The cursor) appears. Andy dissapears front the battlefield and the cursor remains on the battlefield. You have 5 seconds to move the cursor to any area in the battlefield! It works similar to Zelda's recovery move. Except it goes for a shorter distance and the landing area is viewable. NO DAMAGE

B Downward move(Silo)[Taken from Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising]

A little white missile appears and jets directly upwards! It would land ANYWHERE on the battlefield. When it lands....a huge explosion occurs! The explosion is about the size of link's bombs. 8-12% Damage

B Left and Right move(Bomb kick)[Taken from Super Famicom Wars]

A large sphere falls on the grounds. Andy then kicks it! It starts off at a mild pace....then starts going faster and faster at a rapid pace! You can get seriously hurt if you were in the way of the ball. The ball falls off the stage after meanting a edge. If the bomb were to be hit by projectile....it would explode! At a fast pace...the bomb/ball is still slow Speed:8%-12%-15%-20% Explosion: 25% damage

FINAL SMASH(Hyper Upgrade)[Taken from Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising]

Andy recovers 25% of his Damage meter and then bomber units hit the land from above! Each bomb causes 10% damage!

My computer didn't load it the first time but I see him now.  He looks like Brawl material.
