Maybe a midair dodge is the only way.
He took out 3 of my best people that way.........
If you want to talk about, "Cheap" THAT is a cheap attack...

It is possible to dodge.....you have to be close to him....but not get hit by the first ring while it is close to him. If you survive the first blast, you are good to go.

I survived once because I had a mushroom, so I didn't get knocked very far. I had to switch to easy to be him and cause I was in a hurry...

I got a plan!

Run to a edge, you know when you hold to it, it makes you dodge any attack until 4 or 3 seconds, then jump in the air and dodge them!

how to easily dodge attacks in SSE (or dedede's FS):

1. get to a ledge ASAP.

2. ledge hop while waiting for your enemy to attack, while staying below the stage for the duration of the hop. this gives you invulnerability frames, and the ability to dodge dees & doos with ease.

3. when they attack, roll dodge onto the stage. most attacks won't last long enough to kill you.

but i haven't gotten that far, so i have no idea what attack this is.

DO A BARREL ROLL! No, I'm DEAD SERIOUS. YOU have to roll at the right moment to dodge that attack.

Or get lucky and let a Giant Mushroom hit you.

yeah. the only way is to roll dodge every ring.

I found something interesting, the farther you are from his rings, the knockback will be much lesser.

I...have tried all these methods and none of them work for me, i first beat him on hard with all my characters gone but 1, all his attacks are easy to dodge exept that one and the whip... :|

Allgretto, just jump over the whip like you would jump over his...cage capture move.
