As a HUGE Mother fan I know how easy it his to declone Ness, heck they could even add in Paula and Starman and they would all have original movesets!
im not trying to be annoying or anything but what kind of powers would ness have?
ive never played a Mother game

Mother ia an RPG set in modern times, the main characters attack with PSI powers Ness could use a large variety of moves using those PSI Powers, PSI Earth, PSI Flash could be changed to make it more different from PSI Freeze, PSI Brainshock would be a good move... And also I just remembered Sakurai said that Lucas would have different Smash Attack Moves so Ness could take his Baseball Bat and Yo-Yos and perhaps use them in his special attacks.

I don't really see why people care about clones. I'm fine with them, but it would have been better if they would have made them a different moveset, instead of having them copy another character's moveset.

You just answered your question.  Also, Pichu and Dr. Mario just don't deserve to be in at all, clone or decloned.

Those two should be kicked out before anyone else.

Pichu is back, but he evolved.
And what would have been so terrible about Dr.Mario and Pichu coming back?  >:(

1.  There shouldn't be any more than 1 pokemon of the same evolutionary line.  No Pichu, no Raichu, just Pikachu.
2.  While Paper Mario is awesome, could have an extremely unique moveset (with the exception of the hammer, which he would have to have even though Dedede, Kirby, and ICs already have one), and he is OVER 9000 times better than the doctor, I still doubt he will be in.

id say paper mario's chances arent bad
but i dont expect raichu to be in but that wouldve been a great final smash transformation

I think he actually has better chances than the Doctor.  I mean, if we're going to have a second Mario, it might as well be the one that has a unique look, cool moveset, is more popular, and HAS ACTUALLY HAD A RECENT GAME.  Unfortunately, the Doctor has that whole "veteran" thing going for him...

Even if Paper Mario doesn't get in, Dr. mario should definately stay away.

no reason to waste character space :)
