How to keep my Wii from overheating

How do I keep my Wii from overheating? I recently found out that my Wii overheated and damaged the graphics card. How do I keep this from happening again when I get it fixed?

They sell Wii cooling stations. Don't know how that works, but it may be worth looking into.

Don't have it in tight areas, use the gray stand, have a good air circulation.

And don't use it for over 5 hours at a time.

Don't put it on the floor is my only help. It screws around with how the Wii was designed to make it stay cool.

It doesn't get hot, but it does stay warm

Intercoolers do more harm than good. They suck air into the system, meaning dust and other air pollutants get sucked in too. In other words, it may cool it down, but it causes other problems.

Okay, actually, my advice is to not keep it near a radiator.

our basement is hooge, and I keep mine on the ground, on carpet.  It hasn't overheated yet, and I admit to having played brawl for 6 hours straight (combined with my brother though) on the day I got it.


I did get a weird error like, second day I had my Wii though.  forget what it was, but none of the three middle buttons (-, home or +) worked, nor did a few of the others (while playing twilight princess).
