Which game?

You may remember my thread where I asked which game I should get. Well, I've narrowed it down to three choices. Professor Layton & the Curious Village. Looks like a very well designed game; the story, gameplay and art all look superb. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. I've never owned a pokemon game myself, I've only played my brothers. But from what I've played, it's a great series. I've also heard it's the best in the series, in fact one of the best DS games. I also have friends who own this game, so I could play them online.(This is a big plus for me.) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I've played some of it, and I like the concept. Also, like Layton, I like the art. Thanks. :robothappy:

Phoenix Wright... I can barely spell that.. anyways, I can't see myself getting into that series at all.. from what I've seen, it's not for me.

Professor Layton.. mmm... I know not enough about it yet to really... be interested in it.. though if I looked into it, I'm sure I'd find it fun through it's simplicity to play.. it doesn't seem like a hard game but like simple but good fun.  That's the impression I get from it.  If it was between Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton, this would be my pick, but that's not the case since there's another game in this poll.

The Pokemon games... I've been with 'em since the beginning.. for me.. it's a no-brainer to snatch all the versions up.  Not because I'm a mindless follower, I'm a huge fan of the series and these DS games do not disappoint me.  I even imported Pearl as my first ever imported game and enjoyed it all the way through.  Even though it was in Japanese, I loved it.

It all comes down to you though.  You've never really owned a Pokemon game.. either this could be your chance to jump in if you didn't get enough of a taste of it in the past or if you found yourself playing the games often enough, it could be a chance to renew your passion for the series.

I think the Pokemon games probably have the most replay value out of your choices and with friends that have the games and the connectivity options that are there, you'll probably get a lot out of it.  Not everyone is as lucky to know someone who already has any of the games.  The prices aren't going down for either version any time soon so it won't be a waste picking one up now while the scene is still very fresh.  It can be a great single player game like your other two choices but it opens up a lot for multi-player too when you're with friends which I don't think the other two do.  There's plenty to do in Pokemon, always.

I've played both Pheonix Wright and Diamond/Pearl, and I liked Wright a lot more.  I haven't played Layton, but I hear the puzzles you do have almost nothing to do with the story.
