Techs with Link? There's zair for spacing and edgehogging, holding A while picking a bomb and using the C-stick to do a fsmash, quickdraw where you time an arrow just before you hit the ground to almost double the speed at which it shoots, spin slashes out of shields, and, of course, Link's boost smash with the usmash.

Done, done, and done. I do all those, and may I remind you that I am no GCN controller user :P

I see. I guess you have all the bases covered then.

For the bomb drop thing, with TL I find it's pretty easy to do when you jump up through a platform, press Z (or the button for dropping stuff on whatever control you use) right when the bomb is just over the platform.  Don't know how it could be used, it's just cool.  :D

I don't really use any of those techs you guys listed. I do just fine against the majority on this site with my Link. I think HTA can vouch for me that my Link is a pain in the ass. All You really need is to spam Boomerang and Arrows and if your opponent is a safe distance away from you pull out the bombs.

I only find Zair useful when  I sh forward and then Zair into a grab with Link. Anything else I'd rather be farther away with my projectiles.

One tech that I do use is just shing a bomb and immediately shooting an arrow. The bomb stuns just enough for a fairly charged arrow to hit without the enemy to block it.

Timmy, I need to Link ditto with you. I'm sure it'd make the world explode :| :| :|

Timmy0591

Haha, That'd be nice. I learned how to play from KillLock. Last time I fought him was a week ago. I two stocked his Link in Dittos. :P

So much for the Canadian power ranking  :D
That is what he is from, right?

Note that it blocks projectiles, albeit once.
Hmmm... Now that you put it that way... I really don't see it used in practical play.

HTA, what are your views on it? Do you use it?

In 1 Vs 1's I haven't had much of a chance to use it, however it is good for spacing.
Say your on a flat stage, Final Destination or Smashville, and your just not getting the spacing you need with the Boomerang and arrows.

Lay 2 bombs down and the enemy not only has to avoid you but watch out for the landmines that can start a combo if they are ran in to.

Practically its not very useful, but that's not to say it shouldn't be experimented with.

It's actually not useful at all. A decent opponent will never give you the time and focus you need to drop the bomb down, which will probably end up you bombing yourself almost every time. If somehow you DO drop the bomb, its still useless, because your opponent can either pick them up or probably remove you out of the range of those bombs. They cannot space you out of nothing by the way. Why would you try a bomb drop if your other projectiles can't do the job for you?

In short, when you are holding a bomb with Toon Link, your best JCTing it, or throwing it sky high for mind games. Bomb dropping is only useful for showing off.

QingXin

My good sir [Zen127], I second that motion!!

I've now officially have gone razy with the Bomb Slashing. Seriously, I always freak people out with it.

*Fox's uses reflect as bomb is dropped, but gets slashed by Link ;) ;)*

Yeah, I know Zen. "bold"

And to answer the underlined, I've never tried this in a game, ever. Just some ideas, I didn't intend for them to be taken as serious tips on how to use TL just as a way for people to maybe experiment with the concept with more useful results than me. D:

There is another way though. :O
Jump through a platform and drop the bomb, like someone said earlier in the thread.
Its actually really easy to do, and still give you your second jump.

Not all that useful, but fun to play around with.

Lol, sorry. I secondary TL, so I thought I'd let people know there's much better ways to use bombs than setting them down.

I seriously doubt anyone who experimented with it would get far. Reason? I've tried it.
