Tough decision

Well in my new house, there are two rooms upstairs and one downstairs. I have the choice of the downstairs, or one of the upstairs, which I have now.

But, the downstairs is the biggest, with its own bathroom and everything. And the upstairs is a bit smaller, but its closer to the kitchen and living room and stuff. Problem with the downstairs is that it is away from everything, there are two stairs outside, so I would have to go out the downstairs bedroom door and go up the stairs just to go get a drink of water or something. And its kinda lonely, but its like a little studio, which is pretty cool. And the upstairs is what I have now, I like being upstairs more, I don't know why, I just do. But the window is right by the front door, so when you go up the stairs to the door, you can see right in my window (Unless the blinds are shut, of course). But its closer to everything, and the shower is bigger and nicer upstairs.

So what do you think, should I stay upstairs or go downstairs?

I'm not shut in, and im living here for the next year, but i was basically facing the same situation as you about a month ago.

I chose the basement for more room and some peace and quiet (there are 3 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs, and there are people in the duplex next door).  it keeps it quiet down here, and it makes it easier to study without the noise of others.  However, in order to talk to my friends, i have to go up two flights of stairs.

its mostly personal preference.  I chose the basement because I wanted a bit of seclusion, but I spend most of my spare time in the living room/main floor.

and yes, i have my own bathroom as well.

other floor except the 1st...it's just weird...

same.  i know of mini kitchens in the basement, but never anything on the top floor.

I go up stairs to go to my kitchen. ;) ...From the basement. :P
