In theory, this patent should allow Nintendo to make their games accessible to less oriented gamers without insulting the more oriented ones.
Pretty much, which is why I don't see why people should have a need to ninny about it.  If anything, this would mean developers can make more challenging games without worrying about making it too hard for casual players.

Pretty much, which is why I don't see why people should have a need to b**** about it.  If anything, this would mean developers can make more challenging games without worrying about making it too hard for casual players.
that is, of course, assuming they bother making the games difficult. I'll accept this idea only on that condition though.

It's kind of good. More casual gamers would like it if they can't beat a certain part. Casual gamers don't play games ALL the time, so it would be good for them.
For the hardcore gamers, it doesn't really effect them. It's just there if they need it, which they probably won't.

I would use it for a Zelda game, but only for the stupid puzzles like the statue one in TP. >:(

you mean to get to the master sword? Ugh, that puzzle was just beyond stupid...
Again, I'm fine with it if they bother to give the hardcore an actual challenge. Otherwise it's just a dumb way to cheapen the experience.

Beatnik

As if video games needed to be dumbed down any further.
"I like cigarettes, Mrs. Taggart. I like to think of fire held in a man's hand. Fire, a dangerous force, tamed at his fingertips. I often wonder about the hours when a man sits alone, watching the smoke of a cigarette, thinking. I wonder what great things have come from such hours. When a man thinks, there is a spot of fire alive in his mind-and it is proper that he should have the burning point of a cigarette as his one expression..."
