I'm guessing so. That's happened to so many things, including Wii remotes...

But, then again, I learned in my electronics class that batteries do have a shelf life. So, they're actually draingin themselves due to the fact you can't completely stop the chemical reaction that generates the electricity. But, what I wonder is how they drained so darn fast...
