"The final price in the shops is always up to retailers but we will not be increasing the trade price of existing Wii or DS software. However, the trade prices for new titles yet to be released may rise as a result of the depreciation of the pound." - Nintendo rep

While this is a Nintendo topic, the big uproar is on the Wii. With increased expenses, and the pound having a decreased value, Nintendo apparently needs to up the ante a bit. That's kind of rough, but hopefully locked to the UK.

My discussion point here is this: Will this hurt Wii's (and Wii Fit as a specific title) sales? I'll leave that up to you to debate.

well, the way I see it is the sales should be slowing down now...its been 2 years and 5 months.
just the other day i was at two stores and there was 5 in one store, and at least 10 in the other.

So i don't see why they don't lower the price sence they Nintendo has so much money

It will probably be restricted to Europe. Nintendo shouldn't be raising it for any other places. At least for that reason.
If it does affect everyone, I don't think it will change that much. But it really depends on how much the prices change.

They really have no reason to hike it or lower it. Sure, you can now get them, but there is still huge demand that still isn't quenched.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the ripple effect. There will be less demand (in my thinking) and more of an unused supply. Thus, Nintendo being a backwards company, will let their profit loss be compensated for in the still hot American and Asian markets.
