Shadow and Chip's similarities (SA2/Unleashed spoilers)

It's nice how both of them can apply to all of these statements:

• At the beginning of the game, the characters of the game discover him
  
• He lost his memory and tries to regain it through the course of a game (Well, for Shadow, at least this doesn't happen in the same game as he's introduced in)
  
• He believes that collecting the chaos emeralds may restore his memory.
  
• He (arguably) has the second most storyline attention of all characters in the game, behind only Sonic. Some people might even say he has more storyline attention than Sonic in the game.
  
• He alone helps Sonic defeat the final boss
  
• After helping Sonic defeat the final boss, he "dies" (Well, Chip hasn't been revived in any games... yet)
  
• His "death" tries to add a sad mood to the end of the game
  
• The final boss is an alternate version of him (Light/Dark Gaia, the prototype of the ultimate life form)
  
  I believe that, in their respective first games, Shadow was a lot better than Chip.
  Who knows what they'll do to Chip in later games, seeing how Shadow turned out? D=

Unlike chip though, Shadow at least has a personality...
Shadow also had his memories in SA2, the amnesia thing was more of a plot device to bring him back and then SEGA tried to tie it all up when they realized it didn't work too well.

seriously, throwing birds would sound normal compared to the explinations in that game. Besides, the flicky attack could be taken out, or be automatic like it was in S3&K

Unless Hyper Emeralds return, I highly doubt it will ever happen.
So far, the only people who can become "super" from the emeralds are the one with the last name "the Hedgehog". Though other characters have been transformed, they have only transformed through a different kind of emerald.
With that said, Sonic has been transformed by everything except the Sol Emeralds (I think, never played Sonic Rush 2), and it kinda makes me want to see Sonic in Sol Emerald form.

As I've said, it's because SEGA couldn't give a crap about the old games. Why else do you think they would intercourse  up the continuity so darn bad after Adventure 2? (Even at that point SEGA never said they were anywhere different from the supposed "Mobius", just that they happened to be at this station square place).
Although I think we can all blame Sonic X for that more than anything X_X:;

No, it wasn't 4Kids that did Heroes. It was Drummond (Sonic) and Dryer's (Shadow) last game before it got taken over by that evil organization. Tails is only different because the boy playing him in Adventure 1 and 2 (he was 8 then) was like 14 now and obviously can't do that kid voice anymore. So they got some woman to do it...
