Hi guys. Sorry to ask for more help. I've been looking for something that records skype calls, and haven't been having too much luck. Some things cost money (and I'm not doing that).
Also, I already tried AudioHijack, and that practically screwed my Skype system over. Does anyone know anything good for Macs? I hate asking, and usually sound n00bish ( XD ), but I need some help.
Thanks for all the advice you guys have been giving me. After I get this right, BrainScratchComms can go up in the next couple of weeks (school).
If anyone wants to join us, I'd be more than happy to have you guys. You'd just need Skype. So far it's me, SolarisParadox (youtube), and SomeCallMeJohnny (youtube).

Just get a screen recorder, and get it to record sound.
Also, I'll join, what's your skype?

Audacity can record it, just select the input sound to something like "Stereo Mix". That should record any sound made by any programs on your computer.
Er, if you want to record microphone at the same time, you need to open your volume control and set the mic's volume up, so that anything said into the mic will be played out of the speakers.

Set Audacity to record "Stereo Mix". I THINK that records your mic also, maybe not.

I just want it to record Skype. It's commentary so we'll be watching Youtube stuff as well, and I don't want that audio on the recording.

It may be possible to seperate the audio sources based on what program they're coming from in Windows Vista and Windows 7, but any older Windows versions and Mac cannot distinguish audio from a web browser and a VoIP program as far as I know.
Either mute the YouTube video's audio or play the youtube video on a different computer than you're recording Skype on.
Considering Skype is voice communication between multiple people, you can easily have somebody who isn't watching any YouTube videos or whatever join in to record it for you. Even if both people who are chatting are watching the video at the same time, you can ask somebody unrelated to disconnect/mute their microphone, join in a 3-way chat, and record it for you.

Well, it's going to be between 3 of us (I assume Skype can handle 3 way and Audacity can record it X_X;;).
It's okay if I don't have audio I suppose. BTW, where in Audacity is this stereo mix? *god I'm so bad at this stuff*

In that image, see where the "Line In" is (under play, pause, record, stop, etc buttons)? Clicking that drop-down box should list something like "Stereo Mix"

It doesn't exist on the Mac version X_X;; dangit...

For all the complaints that Mac fans raise about compatibility of hardware and software in Vista... <3

Go to the voice or mic or whatever options in the OSX and check the stereo mix box if it is there. That will do it.
