So, RE5 comes out today. Four years of development, and lots of controversy, is all it takes for a game to be released these days.

I've also seen a diverse mix of complaints and praise, garnishing everywhere from 50% to PERFECT. So...yeah. I'm wondering what your thoughts of RE5 are for either system. Do you enjoy it? Does it make RE4 proud? Etc.

Also, my friends at 8th-Circuit concocted a bit of a drinking game....

Quote"1. Two shots every time you defeat a big boss

2. One shot every time you defeat a mini boss

3. One shot every time you have to be revived by your partner (or die if you're playing solo)

4. Two shots if you or your partner get dismembered in any type of gruesome way

Bonus Points! If you really want to get wasted: One shot every time you get scared/startled

And if you want to die of alcohol poisoning: One shot every time you get a headshot/ kill somene in an awesome/gory/cool way

Oh, and One shot for every cheesy line of dialogue (this is a Resident Evil game after all)"

Details on RE5 for me pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaseeeeeeeeeee?  :robothappy:

I hear that RE5 doesn't really feel like a horror game, but instead like a action game. I doesn't seem like you might die at anytime because someone else is their to back you up(Sheva). That's not really a bad thing. It still looks fun as hell.

Also, versus mode.

Macawmoses

But I want to be scared. :(

One of my friends said something similar, too.

Qsmash

I also heard that it's a little easy the first time around.

I don't know. I've never EVER played an RE game before.
Not sure, maybe I could get this one. I'm not a big fan of being scared, though...

Resident Evil does it in a fashion that you can appreciate though. I'm just like you, but the RE scary is just...good.

Triforceman22

played it at my friend's house.
there's a Co-op mode. :)
btw, fun as hell.
Some parts are scary, but it's alot more mild compared to 4.
5 is just as good as 4 in my opinion.

QuoteRobotnik: GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!!!!!!

Magnum

I've beaten the whole thing and right before I left I got infinate ammo for everything I use. (Hydra Triple Barrel, Handcannon Magnum, Sniper, Rocket Launcher :) )
I had to go and play RE3 for the old feeling (Jill...FTW!) . This is an action game. Unlike RE4 with the guy in the oven this game really had no good scare to it. It's still really good and like I stated very fun to play over and over but it's different from any other one. But you have to remember in Japan this is called Biohazard. It isn't all about the scare. It's about a BIOHAZARD. That's scary in itself if you want to have an excuse for it. Yes there is Co-op and Capcom is just trying to keep up with the time with the new Versus mode there is and Mercenaries is back and, in my opinion, is the best part.
Over-all a nice ending for the old Resident Evil Arc. Now for the next couple of years we get to hear about Tri-cell. Since they have the Prog plant now(I can't spell that) you can expect to see zombies again. Also, I hope they call it Biohazard in America and Resident Evil in Japan(That would be SOOOOOOOOOO awesome)

Oh Vesperia, never change... never change

I just finished it and I'm about to go through again to get more cash to upgrade & unlock stuff.
I had one issue with the game. The last battle with Wesker was annoying. I died because I thought I was supposed to push the rock over and meet up with Sheva. I ended up getting flung off the cliff and into the lava. D=  =P Also I didn't see any cheesy line in this one.  :'(
Resident Evil 6 is going to be a reboot of the series. I'm not sure what that means. Anyone want to explain?
New characters? New controls? Starting back in Racoon City and following the path of other survivors?
Or like Magnum said will there be Zombies since Tricel has the progenator (sp?) virus?

Just as it says. Complete and utter Re-boot. New characters, storyline, and other useless crap. It's not like it's going to be in another world though so I can see Tri-cell becoming the new evil corporation letting loose a Biohazard.
Also, call it the PROG virus!

WHAAAAAAAAT?!?

Go out and buy Umbrella Chronicals (Because the aiming sucked in the older ones) and RE4 right NAO! RE is my favorite video game and movie series ever, ZOMBIES FTW!

And i'd gladly buy it if I had an Xbox or whatever system its on. Actually, I almost just bought an Xbox 360 yesterday just to play it because i'm such a huge RE fan, but I already bought a ton of crap this month, my parents would kill me D:  On the plus side, when I do get it, I have a new HD TV to play it on :P

Marrato

I got RE5 its fun.
But to me it just like RE0 and RE4 put together.

I really hated RE5, it just did not feel like resident evil. I had WAY more fun playing mercenaries than the entire campaign.

Also, It was very short.
