How One Spends a History Seminar

Yesterday was Flunk Day at my school, which is one surprise day every year where class is canceled and there's a carnival at the school. Naturally, most people were shaking off hangovers at 9am. After very briefly evaluating our abstracts for our research papers, my peer review group begins to talk about using toilets as a model for governments and religions. Some are my additions, some are the group's. Enjoy.

Governments/Economic Systems:
-Anarchy: Everyone is too busy wallowing in their own filth to clean toilets.
-Capitalism: The poor clean the toilets.
-Monarchy: The serfs clean the toilets.
-Meritocracy: The idiots clean the toilets.
-Fascism: No one needs to clean the toilets, but anyone who doesn't will be shot.
-Theocracy: See section on "Religion."
-Ideal Communism: We must all clean the toilets while exerting an equal amount of labor.
-Real-World Communism: All non-party elites clean the toilets.
-Chinese Cultural Revolution Communism: The Glorious Workers of the People's Republic boldly clean the toilet of Enlightened Chairman Mao with vigor!!

Religions:
-Atheism: The religious clean the toilets.
-Agnosticism: The religious clean the toilets. Nah, the atheists. Nah, the religious. Somebody does.
-Christianity: The wicked and the heathens shall clean the toilets for all eternity.
-Islam: The wicked and the infidel shall clean the toilets for almost all eternity.
-Judaism: See "capitalism."
-Shinto: The gods created the world while having an orgy involving toilet cleaning.
-Hinduism: The untouchables clean the toilets.
-Zen Buddhism: Clean and dirty toilets are really two expressions of the same thing. We must overcome this seeming untruth in order to reach Enlightenment.
-Esoteric Buddhism: Duuuude...why does that toilet have wings, man?
-Pure Land Buddhism: Toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...toilet...
-Confucianism: All sons will clean their fathers' toilets. All wives will clean their husbands' toilets. All sisters will clean their brothers' toilets. All servants will clean their masters' toilets.
-Taoism: The Tao encompasses all. A dirty toilet represents Yin, a clean one, Yang.
-Sikhism: A full understanding of the toilet or who cleans it is beyond our knowledge. We may only attempt to answer these questions through careful reflection.
