Yep. Tetris turns 25 years old today. It was released on June 6th, 1984.

I still have my Game Boy cartridge of Tetris. Besides that, the only other Tetris game I have is Tetris Party. But I've always loved Tetris. Maybe I should get Tetris DS.

Also, if you go to Google, their image will be made up of Tetrominoes. It's D-Day today, too. So it's kind of funny to see Google celebrating Tetris over that. :P
YEAH

Google's logo today is pretty cool.
1984 WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN INSTRUCTION NOT MANUAL

Shame that the guy who made it isn't making a ruble off of it....

I prefer the Tengen version, and the one originally made by the guy because of the better gameplay and subtly veiled Soviet/Communist symbols.

Y'know, it's hard to believe it's that old. But looking back, it was already old when I was born, in terms of game series.

Nayrman

the classic of all puzzle games. One of the top selling videogames of all time (I think only Mario Bros. and Mario Bros 3 actually beat Tetris on the original NES).

Too bad the guy who made it made less than $10,000 in the entirety of the game's lifespan. That dude deserves to be remembered as greatly as all the other programmers of the time. But hey, Soviet Russia X_X;;
